Anybody can take part. Any kind of business can give an item or provide a service. Craftspeople and artists, at any level of experience can provide a gift to take part and the public can all take with no cost goodwill gifts. If somebody feels that they cannot provide anything for whatever reason we can provide a donated gift on their part. Please just in touch through the contact form.

Yes, you must be 18+ to register and list a gift. However, children are encouraged to come to the event and there will be activities for them to do.

We will keep your registration email on file for future communications regarding this specific event. After the event, we will ask if we can continue to keep it to let you know about future events. We will not pass this onto any third-parties or email you about any other events etc.

Specific email or phone numbers, provided on the gift listing form, for the recipient to contact you will not be kept beyond the event.

No, this is a charity event run entirely for the benefit of New-U (a charity) and Gifted Exchange (a non-profit community interest company).

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that gifters will follow through with their promise. As a charity event we are responsible for connecting gifters but cannot be responsible for what happens between the connections. However, we will endevour to help when necessary so please contact us if you have any issues.

The event happens on Saturday October 12th at the Forum in Norwich city centre. Further details will be given over the summer.

If you can’t make it to the live event on October 12th then you cannot be included in the world record, but you will still be able to claim an exchanged gift. Details of your gift will be emailed to you shortly after the live event. Physical items will need to be collected from the New-U store in the Castle Quarter Shopping Centre.

If you decide to gift a physical item and you have a retail high street store, the recipient can be directed to collect it from the store. If you don’t have a high street presence you will need to deliver the item before October 1st, to the New-U store in the Castle Quarter Shopping Centre. You can deliver it in person or by post. In person you will need to tell staff your Gift ID, found on your account page under ‘My Listings’. By post, you will need include the Gift ID inside the package. Your listing will remain pending until it has been delivered. If it is not delivered by October 1st you will not be able to take part in the exchange.

No, you cannot buy something to enter into the exchange. It must something that you have made yourself, a service you provide like goodwill gifts or, if you are a business, a product or gift card from your store.
